All Care Supports The Care Workers Charity!

We are excited to announce that All Care is now a Supporter Member of The Care Workers Charity (CWC)! This partnership is a fantastic way to show our support for our amazing staff. Keep reading to find out about what the CWC is all about and how they’ll be supporting our teams!

What is The Care Workers Charity

The CWC is the only national charity dedicated specifically to supporting health and social care workers. They offer valuable mental health support, training, and most importantly, financial crisis grants. These grants are accessible through a straightforward application process, which we can assist our colleagues with. The best part? These grants do not need to be repaid by the colleague or the company.

Crisis Grant Information

CWC offers support to health and social care workers who have experienced significant financial impacts due to various circumstances:

  • Sudden or unexpected loss of income
  • Sudden or unexpected illness or injury
  • Sudden or unexpected change in living circumstances or loss of home
  • Relationship breakdown
  • Domestic abuse
  • Death of a close relative

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must not be over 25% of the Minimum Income Standard (MIS).
  • Managers’ incomes are typically above this threshold
  • Household savings must be less than £3,000 for a single adult household or £6,000 for a couple.

What Grants Can Cover:

  • Daily living expenses
  • Essential whitegoods
  • Household items
  • Moving costs
  • Health improvement aids and adaptations
  • Travel expenses to hospital
  • Household repairs
  • Car repairs
  • Funeral costs
  • Bankruptcy and Debt Relief Order (DRO) application fee
  • Fees to prevent eviction

What Grants Do Not Cover:

  • Debts (consumer credit/debt repayments, payday loans, overdraft fees, rent arrears)
  • Legal fees and costs of legal representation
  • Payment of fines
  • House purchase
  • Private medical treatment
  • Private education
  • Higher education course fees
  • Carpets

Application Process- How to Apply:

  1. Online: www.thecareworkerscharity.org.uk/hardship-grant
  2. Colleagues can fill out the application online and upload supporting documents. If unable to upload, they may send via email.
  3. If the form is inaccessible due to a disability, they are encouraged to seek assistance from us, a friend, or agency (such as Citizens Advice).
  4. For further support, contact: grants@thecwc.org.uk

Assessment Process:

  1. CWC must receive all required documentation before assessing an application.
  2. Applications are typically assessed within 1-3 weeks.
  3. Two rounds of assessments are aimed for each month, around the 1st and 15th.
