All Care Thames Valley Raises £1,000 for Breast Cancer Now
All Care Thames Valley is proud to have raised £1,000 for Breast Cancer Now through a successful Afternoon Tea fundraiser that brought together staff, service users, families and members of the local community.
The event was organised by Kirstie O’Keeffe, Registered Manager at All Care Thames Valley, who was inspired to support the cause after seeing the impact breast cancer has had on people connected to the branch.
Guests enjoyed an afternoon of tea, cake and conversation while raising awareness of a disease that affects thousands of families across the UK every year. The fundraiser also highlighted the importance of breast awareness and early detection, helping to spark meaningful conversations within the community.
Kirstie said: “Breast cancer has touched the lives of many people within our community, including our own staff, service users and their families. We wanted to do something meaningful that would bring people together, raise awareness and support the incredible work Breast Cancer Now does every day. I’m incredibly proud of everyone who contributed and helped us raise over £1,000 for such an important cause.”
The fundraiser forms part of Breast Cancer Now’s Afternoon Tea Month, which encourages people across the UK to gather with friends, family, neighbours or colleagues to raise vital funds for research and support. Breast cancer remains the most common cancer in the UK, with around 55,000 women and 400 men diagnosed each year, and one woman diagnosed every 10 minutes.
